Idiopathic intracranial hypertension is for hypertension that involves the blood vessels (arteries to be more precise) in the head. Idiopathic means that no reason or mechanism can be found or explained.

This can be a dangerous condition if a person has a history of an aneurysm in the head blood vessels. Previous signs of minor ischemic brain attacks can also raise the alarm, because they can lead to a potentially life threatening ischemic brain attack.

The signs that should be detected are vertigo, dizziness, headache, and temporal visual disorders.
