I went to the ER feeling very strange about a month and 1/2 ago. He said I was having an anxiety attack. He did blood work and a urine test. How could he really tell that's what the problem was. I went to the ER again and was having a panic attack. All the doctor did was listen to my heart and told me to take one of my pills. He explained things to me, but I was so shaken up, I don't know what he said. I've been to my family doctor twice and he says my heart sounds fine. How can doctors be so sure it's anxiety without running some tests on your heart or brain? I've read the symptoms for anxiety are pretty clear cut. I don't really get chest pains and rarely does it feel like i'm suffocating. I get some gas pains under my left breast, but I've always gotten them from time to time.

Definitely Anxiety
I had the same responce from my local Dr and the Dr's in the hospital, I suffered with lightheadedness on it s own, then I got the symtoms of Anxiety few days later, but all they seemed to do was check my heart and a few blood tests, they have never checked my head, they say I don't show any symtoms.
But how can the Dr know if its really ANXIETY if he's not checked my head,etc.. they will not do a scan, they say there is no need to, but this is actually stopping me from doing anything, because I still have the weird sensations in my head, lightheaded/bad nausea/inner shakin/slight blurry vision.
My Dr put me on PROPRANOLOL 10mg I have 6 of these a day, not really sure if they really work or nor, but I know in my self that I never panic, so how can it be Anxiety
