Q: deep rectal pain after bowel movement

For several months now, I've been noticing a sharp pain deep in my rectal area after bowel movements. It almost feels as if it has been jabbed by a knife. I'm not sure if its a big deal or not because there is no blood and I can only feel the pain when I'm wiping.

And my bowel movements seem healthy. They're a normal consistency, never bloody, nor do I notice any other problems.

Last night, I tried to check my rectal opening in the mirror but, I couldn't see deep enough to pinpoint where the pain was coming from. So, in the shower I poked around with my finger until I found the pain. And sure enough I felt the same stinging sensation.

Do you think this could be linked to something serious? The irritation always seems to be there. I just have to touch the specific area to actually feel it. (Hard to explain) Is it necessary for me to schedule a doctors visit?
Thanks for any help!
