According to the data you reported, you might be experiencing local ischemia that causes temporary inadequate function of the sensitive nerves. The ischemia might be caused by local or general vasospasm (contraction of the blood vessels) that is aggravated with the presence of a thinner artery than usual. The artery barely supplies enough blood in the area, which is detected via the ischemia. If such an artery exists, then the condition is congenital and nothing can be done. Also, if only pins and needles are present, then it is very probable that no complications will occur.
