Q: Dead nerves on cut skin

Around 4 years ago I cut my finger against the metal accidentally while building my computer. most of the skin was dislodged and I put anti-bacterial stuff on it and just left it as is instead of tearing that part of the skin off...

As it healed..the old skin seemed to actually have bonded back with the finger but I can no longer feel anything on that portion of skin...

Is there anything I could do (minor surgery) perhaps?
