Today my cycle is 6 days late (was supposed to be here last Thursday (11/10/2011). I have had no spotting, or bleeding of any kind. I have had a white/clear/milky discharge (doesn't smell, so it's not an infection) that started Monday and still have it today. I've had a dull headache since Monday as well. I've been tired, or exhausted easily. I couldn't sleep last night, and starting Sunday night I would wake up because I became too hot (although my husband has been cold). Yesterday I started to get overheated just sitting at my desk, and then driving home (it's been low 30's outside) I felt like I was on fire. My husband felt my face and said the same thing. Monday I also had cramps that I usually get when my period starts, but whenever I would go check, nothing there, but that discharge. Yesterday I had a bloated feeling also.

Now...I took a First Response test last night when I got home, and then again this morning (first pee) and both were negative. I don't know what's going on...could it be that I had implantation cramps on Monday, or that I'm so early in a pregnancy (like a week?) that the HCG hormone isn't showing up in my urine yet?

My husband and I had protected sex on October 20th, which was right in the middle of my ovulation cycle (so I don't think this time was the culprit), a few more times between then and November 1st as well. But November 1st, we had unprotected 'foreplay'. He ejaculated on the outside of me down there, but I wiped and tried to clean it up, then we had protected sex. I know that it's very VERY possible I could have become pregnant off of this.

Next week I'll be taking another HPT, and if it's still negative, and I still don't have my period, I'm going to the doctor. Any thoughts? Am I pregnant?

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
There can be variation of 5-10 days in your menstrual cycle length. The symptoms (increased vaginal discharge, dull headaches, increased tiredness and fatigue, elevated basal body temperature, abdominal cramps, delayed periods, bloating) that you describe could be suggestive of possibility of pregnancy. Wait and watch for your periods. If you do not get your periods within 10 days of expected period dates, or if you get abnormal periods, or if you develop symptoms suggestive of pregnancy, you should consider visiting your gynecologist for thorough examination (to confirm pregnancy related changes/signs in body) and blood/serum HCG level test (to confirm/rule out pregnancy accurately). You may also consider taking a urine pregnancy test (on an early morning first urine sample) after 7-10 days of missed/abnormal periods to see if you get positive results, or get it confirmed by a blood HCG test (avoid lot of fluid intake or caffeinated beverage intake in the previous night before test). Be in regular monitoring and follow-up with your treating doctor/gynecologist and report any new/abnormal symptoms immediately. Take adequate rest. Drink plenty of water. Maintain healthy diet and lifestyle.
Take care.
