Hi okay so recently my boyfriend and me had protected sex (condom) but then me being paranoid i decided to take the 4 BC pills straight afterwards to reduce the chances of me getting pregnant even more. The forum said to take 4 pills and then 12 hours later take another 4. I forgot to take the pills 12 hours later and for the past 3 days I have had a dark brown discharge coming out of me. Is this because of the estrogen having different levels cause of the stopping and starting of birth control?

What kind of birth control pills did you use? Do you regularly use birth control pills?

Yes, the spotting is most likely due to the pills you took.

k so the pills i took were microgynon 30. but i could only take those ones cause i'm in hong kong and these were the only ones suggested in on the site to take for emergency in hong kong. and i was on it for a month but then it became messed up because of taking the excessive pills. and thanks so much!! so wait does that mean the discharge is just me getting my period cause of the dried blood in me?

Now I understand, you basically used those pills for emergency contraception.
Yes, any bleeding would be because of the sudden rise and then drop of hormones in your body. Basically, you provoked a withdrawal bleed, a bit like the one you experience when regularly taking birth control pills. Such bleeding is not considered abnormal with emergency contraception, and I have actually heard that this bleeding is a sign that the contraception was effective.
Best of luck!
