Hi. Im 15 years old. I had a knee injury 4 years ago. It was a football injury. Me and another guy were running at each other at full speed... and his helmet hit my knee. The results were a broken tibula, torn plica, damged nerve, damge to other tissues, tendonds, and cartlige, and a bruised kneecap. All of this wasnt even found until this summer(4 years after the injury). For some reason it never showed up on MRIs or Xrays. But back to my question... im having a very bad "cold" feeling in my injured leg. It almost like the meat in the leg is being frozen in a freezer, although the skin is warm. Things like this trigger the odd feeling: if im outside in the cold, in wind, sitting in front of a fan or vent, or stress from running or any strenuous activity. Im having the pain as high as my quad and as low as my upper calf, but its definately worst in the knee. The Doctor im going to told me it was a damaged nerve. He said it'll need surgery. And thats all he told me. I wont see him for another month... and im very axious to hear more about it. What i wanted to ask you was... what kind of surgery would the average person have to repair, or fix, or even remove a damged nerve? Arthroscopic(which i had on the damged plica)? Or would i have to go under the knife? Any information or help you could offer would be greatly appriciated. Thanks in advance
