Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth's Ask a Doctor forum.
Well generally pain in the upper part of abdomen (stomach) is due to acidity. Irregular eating habits, long gaps between meals and spicy meals are the main cause. It could also be a pain due to gall bladder or liver issues too. Hence an ultrasound of the abdomen should be done. The treatment is by taking antacid tablets, eating frequent small meals and avoiding spicy fried food along with aerated drinks.

Rarely pain in the upper abdomen is due to heart problems. Please consult a doctor and get her examined, especially if she has other symptoms such as weakness, breathlessness etc.

Please consult your doctor as a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net. Probably you will do better on some other pill which does not make you feel so nauseous. Hope this helps. Take care!
