Hi,

Im a 16 year old student and for the last 1 and a half to 2 years i have been experiencing headaches to the back left of my head. Though the location does sometimes varie, and can exist further forward, but mostly always on the left of my head. I can go sometimes weeks without experiencing one, but then i go for weeks with having one almost everyday. The headaches are not severe and are bareable and there are no other symptoms. Just like a mild throbing that seems to be coming from my skull. Im really at my wits end with it, and to be honest im starting to get worried. Im not a stressed out kind of person so i dont think its anything to do with stress. There is no pattern to them, but mostly come on throughout the day and last sometimes on 10 minutes and other times a couple of hours. I dont like visiting my GP, as if they were to send me for tests i would panic myself to death on the results!

Thank you all help is appreciated.

It sounds like you are experiencing a cervical headache, that origins in the neck area and spreads to the back of the head and forward.
This headache results from dysfunction in muscles, nerves, joints in the neck area, and one subtype is a headache known as occipital neuralgia.

Although, it doesn't sound like a serious problem, it will be a good idea to visit your physician.

Best wishes!
Marija
