cyst in the liver

Description of a cyst in the liver along with loss of weight could be due to either infections (bacterial, parasitic, etc) or tumors ( benign or malignant).

The presentation of liver enlargement depends on the underlying cause or illness causing it. Some ‎general some symptoms of liver disease include nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, indigestion, ‎change in stools, jaundice, itching, etc. ‎

In severe conditions with greater liver dysfunction abdominal distension, swelling of the legs, ‎anorexia, lethargy could be evident. ‎

In cases of infections in the liver, fever, abdominal pain, and discomfort could be present. ‎

Your mother might need to be evaluated with blood tests to ‎check the function of the kidney, liver, complete blood counts, and tumor markers like AFP, etc. In addition a CT scan of the abdomen may be helpful for evaluation.

The treatment of the condition varies and depends on the definitive diagnosis which cannot be made ‎due to the lack of a complete medical history and physical examination findings. ‎
