Menstruation Answer A4933

Given the data you provided (early onset of light “menstrual” bleeding with milky-white colour on the first day and irregular menstrual cycles), it seems likely that you might be experiencing an unovulatory cycle due to a disbalance of sexual hormones. Although rare, unovulatory cycles are considered normal for every woman. It is also known in medical literature, that certain women experience regular cyclical light bleedings in the first few months of their pregnancies (confused with periods and women not being aware about their pregnancies). Taking under consideration all of the above, it seems it might be wise to do 1(-2) OTC (over the counter) urine pregnancy tests 5-7 days after the expected onset of the menstrual cycle (you said this bleeding was early, so consider the expected date of when your period should have started and add 5-7 days to do this pregnancy test from the urine), just to be on the safer side, whether this was actually a menstrual period or an irregular non-menstrual bleeding (metrorrhagia), with or without pregnancy being present. You might also consider consulting with your gynecologist about the irregularity of your cycles.
