Q: Cycle change after NuvaRing ?

A few days ago I took my NuvaRing out, but it wasn't the full 3 weeks because I took it out early due to the fact that I didn't want to be on it anymore. Well, today I got my period, is this normal? Most girls say they don't get a period after stopping birth control, however with NuvaRing I don't have to take any placebo pills. I had it in the back of my mind that I might be getting my period, but I wasn't sure since I didn't have it in for the full 3 weeks. Few questions: If I'm getting my period like this does this mean I'll have 2 in one month or is this my period? Did I screw my cycle up? And did my days of ovulation just change because of this?

Help.

It is called withdrawal bleeding. You get it when the hormones from the ring is withdrawn. When you use hormonal birth control, you do not get a real period, just withdrawal bleeding.

Nobody can say how or when your next period will be. It may be delayed, it may be sooner or it may be on time. It all depends what your body does with the hormonal imbalance caused by stopping the ring. All that can be said is that your next period will likely be 14 days after your next ovulation.
