My 8 yr old granddaughter has cuts above her upper eye teeth can you tell me what is causing this

Could be a vitamin defiency or a number of other things. Can you get her to rinse/gargle with warm salt water or a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water? This might heal these places. I'd suggest if the cuts do not go away, seek help through physican or dentist.
