It sounds like the doctor gave you an episiotomy, a small cut to enlarge the opening for the baby to come through. Either that or the area was torn during labor.

My sister tore on the inside while giving birth. If it is painful while passing urine then drink lots of water as this will make it easier. It may heal naturally but if your unsure then ask ur doctor for more advice. Also drinking water will help it not become infected.
