Hi, I was trying to shave the hair around my genitals, and I was trying to just get a little bit of hair off the back of the shaft (area of shaft closest to scrotum), and my hand slipped and I nicked myself on the shaft and maybe the scrotum. Where I nicked myself on the shaft, it bled, but not badly. I cant tell if its deep, but it seems like i just cut myself nothing worse. I used water with a little bit lower than room tempurature water to make the skin contract to stop the little bit of bleeding faster, then I tried to clean it with room tempurature water, but the cut opened up again. I held a clean towel to the shaft and it closed within seconds again. I dont want to have to go to the doctor for this, because it would be emberassing and I think if I just had some help and knowledge I would be better off. Thanks

EDIT: Also, I was hoping to have a little bit of fun possibly today or within the next couple of days. Please, I hope I won't have to lay off of that for too long. Will I?

If its a small cut, ur body will probably repair itself within a week. But if its worse than that, you should see a doctor.

I used an electric razor with 6-7 teeth. 4 teeth caught my shaft. I have 4 small cuts on the shaft. Only one of the cuts opens up a little and bleeds, but I think I will be fine. Do you think I will have to skip the sexual activity I may be enduring from today up until the next 2-3 days? I had some plans for today and later this week.

If only one cut bled, I don't think its that bad, but maybe skip sexual activity for just today to prevent the possibility of cuts reopening?

i think i can handle that. should i apply a bandaid to it?
my girlfriend and i will still be hanging out. do you think if i get an erection i will bleed?

Ya, I think a bandaid will help. I don't think anything will happen if you get an erection, but something might happen if you masturbate or have sex

Ok thanks. I actually loosely tied a ripped up part of an old tshirt, would you rather use that or a bandaid? And, should a shower be ok and not open the cut, because I need to take one very soon.

A shirt may actually be better than a bandaid cuz it permits more airflow to ur cut, letting it heal faster (bandaids are more designed to stop bleeding). I think showers will help ur cut heal since it moisteruizes and is nice and warm, idk, that's my guess, lol

I would avoid intercourse. Till its completely healed

One because it could reopen again- cause infection-

The other reason would be because of STDs

Anyway, good luck. I hope you're felling better. I would have Polysporn on your penis with a small bandaid (bandaid so the medication doesn't make your pants a mess... during the day to make it heal quicker - and nothing at night just have a shower take off the bandaid and let it dry out and scab at night. OR Vise versa.

Thanks, I have already applied the bandaid, so instead of enduring the painfulness of ripping off the bandaid. I am feeling better, and i wasnt planning intercourse but more like oral. Anyways, no worry for STD's since her and I were each others firsts. So, no oral today, abut what about in the middle of the week? Thanks for everything!

I may be a little late responding, but I wanted to add in that make sure if you use the old shirt it is clean because otherwise you might get a nasty infection. Also, make sure if you are engaging in sexual activity that the other person is std free because the open wounds on your penis would put you at high risk for contracting something.

That shirt had come from my drawer after being in the dryer, so it was clean. Plus, I used a bandage anyways. These cuts were so small that the scabs are already falling off and healing. My ex and I aren't having sex, but if we were, we were our first and only's so far, so if we were to do so, there would be no risk of STD's. Thanks for your concern, and yes I feel VERY foolish because I realized I put this in the wrong category O__O wow
