Q: Cut during haircut

Hi, I got cut in my neck while having hair cut 2 weeks before. Immediately after the cut the barber applied a big piece of alum on the cut. Will I get infected with HIV that way? Please help me?

My main concern would be hep c and not HIV.

HIV dies 30 seconds to a minute after it leaves the body.

Hep C on the other hand can live on the surface for 6-8 weeks.

If your barber uses universal health precautions, then I don't see any problem.
