Q: Curing hormonal acne ?

Every month, around 4-5 days before my period, my vagina gets really itchy and irritated for about a week and then it goes away about half way through my period. Could this be a side effect to the pill? What can I do about it? Sex during this time hurts like hell, and it itches literally all week nonstop. I can't stand it, but I don't want to go off the pill because the last time I tried, all my acne that had been cleared up came back worse, and I'm one of those people who have tried EVERYTHING for acne and the only success i had was with the BC pill, Alesse.

So what can I do? =(

Go to your doctor.
It sounds like you may have some time of infection, like a yeast infection, if the itching is that bad. It doesn't sound like it has to do with your acne. I know you said it doesn't itch all the time, but maybe hormonal shifts make it worse.

You can try over-the-counter yeast infection treatments (they even have those tests you can take), but I would still consider seeing your doctor to make sure you get the right medicine.

Probiotics for that V-Itch
Hi Try Probiotics to clear up candida and reduce your insulin level by eating less sugar (less sweet fruits and no candy, more high glycemic carbs, water, etc). I used to get that before my cycle as well (dry vagina, itchy skin with cottage-cheese discharge). Again, less sugar should work. Good quality probiotics will also solve the issue as they create good bacteria to kill the bad bacteria caused by too much sugar.

Does this help?
