Q: CTS symptoms increasing

Hello everyone,

I just turned 27 two days ago, and the symptoms of CTS got even worse. I have it in my right hand.

History, I had an accident with my right hand after I fell like 100 times while roller bladding/ ice skatting (2 years ago). Just mentioning it bcz it might have contributed to it.

I touch type a lot (and now I found out that my posture never used to be very ergonomic)

I also ride a sports motorcycle (that tends to put stress on your wrist, especially if someone is sitting behind).

The severe pain started in Aug 2007.. stayed for few weeks. The severity decreased, but I have pain in my wrist ever-since. I just started taking iso-brufin (400-600 mg, two or three times a week), changed my typing posture, cut back on bike riding, and started using braces for the last few days.

My question is that how long I need to wait before I will see an improvement (emplying that I am going in the positive direction). I just got it checked by a nurse so far, and all the symptoms are CTS.

I will really really appreciate your help.
Thank you.

I had cts surgery in Feb. It only took away the numbness. I went back to work now i am off work again cause im have pain in my hand, wrist and arm. Some people the surgery might work for. I have also done the thearpy. I would try going to therapy. Therapy will help some people. They also use a pariffin wax to dip your hand in and excercises that will help.
