I had CT surgery in Apr 2008 with 6 months of relief and then again in May 2009 but this time hands are just as numby and tingly as before the 2nd surgery. I have gone through 2 months of intense therapy on the hand but they still stiffen at night and pain during the day. Since I've had 2 surgeries, what is the next thing that can be done? Another surgery? Injections? I have been referred to a hand specialist at Carson and it seems like the more I use my hand the more numbling tingling they get. The Doc noted yesterday at my appt that I have very limited pulse in the left dominant hand. Thanx for any advice or suggestions!

I would stay away from more surgeries...Have you tried using a wrist brace at night?...You don't want to do this on a regular basis, but it might help...I question if this will ever be what it was to start....Only having this myself can I walk this walk in life that you walk...I would still say rest it....Good luck....

thank you for the only replied I received. I am scheduled for another EMG on 1 oct. I do wear a wrist brace at night but not on a regular basis as you state. I am now seeing an additional hand specialist at this point as well. Yes, I was diagnosed with CT before both surgeries.

I have found from people speaking of these injections, that many see no helpful benefits after having these done...Are you typing from the waist up as you were taught years ago?..This can hinder recovery...I find that typing on the top of a desk or table that this is an unnatural position and bothered me...Since I purchased a big U shaped desk deal with the pull out shelf for the keyboard, plus my hands at the right angle, that this has been a God send to me....Take care...
