Q: CTS in dominant hand

I had CT surgery in Apr 08 in my left dominant hand and it appears as of last month, the tingling/numbness sensation has returned in the same index/thumb and now ring fingers. After the surgery and with therapy the index/thumb felt fine. I did have CTS about 3 yrs prior to the surgery. Is it common for the symptoms to reappear so soon? I am seeing my hand specialist on a regular basis. SHould I request for him to do nerve conduction studies again? Thanx for any advice/suggestions anyone has. As of now I am doing light driving & deliveries in Atl instead of all the admin type work that eventually led to CTS.

I guess I am of the opinion that this is something that we live with in life...Maybe a part of us that has wore out and there is no replacement pieces...Doctors can do only what they can do....It is up to us to baby this hand and use the other as much as we can....I keep my wrist brace under my pillow in case it acts up at night...I hate to put it on because I feel confined but the minute I do the pain will subside....This tells me something and I have learned from it....

I have seen people after having the surgery on both hands, still wear braces.....I guess with this affliction that we kind of live with it and learn more each day....Personally, I don't think that you will ever come back to where we were....

Just my thoughts....
