Hi I have a question maybe you can help me with. My sister who is 32 went in for a CT scan because of some GI problems she has been having. The Doctor said everything check out for her GI tract but said they did find something they were not expecting to find. What they found was a 5.9x5.7 cm mass on her cervix. He told her he was referring her to a GYN. I don't know if this is serious or not because we do not know what kind of mass it is. I guess my question is are there other things this mass could be besides cancer. I am worried a little but I have not told her that. Any info would be great.
Thank You

Unfortunately there is not much I can tell you. Your sister needs to see a gyn to have more tests done to determine what sort of mass it is. There are several possibilities but without a biopsy or resection of the mass it is impossible to know. Early intervention is best so she should go as soon as possible to see a gyn.
