I'm 18 years old, I've never had sex, and I'm on birth control for cramps. I was first on just a generic pill, but it didn't seem to work and my doctor prescribed me with Yaz. I still have cramps that are so bad some days I can't go to school or work. From what I've learned birth control is supposed to help cramps but I haven't seen these benefits yet. I have no side effects or any problems on the pill, but I'm still in pain everytime I get my period. I don't skip pills either. I'm fairly inactive and I don't have a healthy diet, but when I was on a diet and exercising for a few months the pain did not subside. Why don't birth control pills help my cramps? I know that pill periods are not menstraul periods, could the hormone withdrawal of the sugar pills be worse than my menstraul cramps?

The pill reacts differently to each person so you could go back to your doctor and try a new pill. It takes afew different types to find the best one for you. You should be able to find one that helps you with cramps in the end.
