I am over due right now. Just entered week 41. I am having trouble sleeping because I get cramps when I lay down to sleep. Any idea why? They go away when I sit up but all I wanna do at 5am is sleep! This has been happening for a few days now. It feels like menstrual cramps. They down start right away. I sleep for several hours before they become so bad I cant sleep anymore and I just get up.

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum.
The cramps could be due to your uterus reacting and getting ready for the delivery (a form of Braxton Hick’s of early pregnancy). It usually happens due to stretch effect on the uterus. Consider visiting your gynecologist/obstetrician for a check done to see if uterus is acting. You might need a NST (non stress test) or a CST test. Since it is affecting your rest, do not delay your visit to your treating gynecologist/obstetrician.
Take care.
