Is it normal to have bleeding and cramps after sexual intercourse. The bleeding doesn't usually last for more then a couple hours, but sometimes there is a brownish discharge that lasts for a few days after. I've been on the Depo Provera birth control shot for about six months. Could the birth control be what is causing the cramps and bleeding? I have also been checked for cirvical cancer and STD's and do not have any.

I have been on the depo shot going on 9 years and I to experience spotting after sex. I dont however have cramps. I have a Dr. appt in 2 weeks to check out the issue along with some other issues, so I guess I will find out if its normal. But spotting on the depo is normal and having no period. Hope this helps.
