Im not sure which topic to add this in. I have been on the non hormonal IUD and just got it out on the 22nd of June this year. My husband and I wanted to try to have another baby. We started trying and I believe my ovulation time was around the 1-7th as I had tried looking it up on those calendars you can find on the net going off your date of last period, etc. During that time I could tell that I was ovul. with the normal stuff plus cramping but, I am still cramping and it is not the 17th and have been since then. I also have lower back pain, I never have these issues. I rarely have cramps during my period. My stomach is bloated, I am tired all the time and moody. I have taken 2 pregnancy tests and they were both neg. My last period started a couple days after I got my IUD out, on the 24th. I am worried it may be OV Cysts, or Im not sure. I am hoping you may be able to help me with some answers. Thank you very much!

I’m trying to find out the same thing... here’s my story:

I totally thought I was pregnant in June after having a very light period (a day and ½) with little cramps and lightly sore boobs- with the weeks to follow my lower back pain (that I usually get with my periods) didn’t go away, my face broke out big time, I was crying at rubbish tv shows, I was lightly cramping with sharp pains every now and again (mostly during ovulation time) tired (naps as much as I can) and feeling nauseous, but after 2 negative pregnancy test, I pushed that thought out of my mind.

My next period (July 10th) was much of the same (a day and ½ again) with a little more cramping and all the symptoms are still present, but another negative pregnancy. My last period (August 6th) was much of the same (a day and ½ again) with heaver bleeding and lighter cramping as my June period. I still have all the same symptoms- the back pain and cramping are still there is, varies degrees throughout the day, my face is still totally breaking out, I’m not as tired and I’m not feeling as nauseous as the first few months and my emotions seem to have settled down- still cry at rubbish things every so often and my stomach is bloated just a little. My breasts aren’t sore but the veins in my nipples seem a little darker.

I haven’t taken a test this month (I’m sure it will be another neg) and I’ve been to the docs and got some bloods done, she tested for everything under the sun (she even made me take a Chlamydia test) and ruled out liver, ect and hormones seem good and ruled out pcos, but when I asked her what my hcg levels were she said “I didn’t know this was a pregnancy enquiry!” I wanted to shout “It’s a what the --- is going on with me enquiry and since we are ttc wouldn’t you just put that on the check list to rule it out???” She’s now sent me to an oygbn, so will just have and wait to see what they say. But I’m left after 8wks of dull pain- stuck wondering if it’s cysts or something else!! (I’ve had a pap smear done and that came back okay too.)

So my next step is to take a home test and if next period is funky and back pain hasn’t gone away I’ll go back to the doc to get a blood test to rule it out, unless I get to see the oygbn first!

Keep updated and good luck- Robbie

Hi there,
Thanks for the reply.. To my suprise I just found out that I am pregnant after the 4th test taken.. I have an appt to see the Dr tomorrow.. Maybe the same for you...If you have a child already I hear the 2nd time is a little different, body reacts in some ways differently than the first... I was really concerned too with having the issues I was going through and getting the neg test so not knowing what the heck was going on.. Im glad at least I know now and have ruled out possible things that were scary to me going through my head of what icould be... let me know what happens please.. I forgot how difficult being pregnant is... Happy and moody at the same time, typical woman I guess, least my husband would say, what else is new LOL.. Smile

Congratulations! How are things going?? How long did you have to wait for a ???

I’m still waiting around- no or major pain from a possible cysts bursting, but still having loads of light to mild back aches and period like cramps (Going on 12 weeks now). I saw an ER doc a week ago and all he had to say was “well it’s not life threatening if it’s been going on so long!” (aaahhhhhhhhhh) But hopefully seeing him has pushed up my appointment with the oygbn. I don't have any children yet so there's no difference Wink but thanks for the suggestion!

Keep updated and good luck-

Oh wow, Im sorry to hear that.. Things are good, pregnancy is difficult (as it was the 1st time, I remember now) I did have a scare last week and had to go to the ER, though I was having a miscarriage.. All is OK so far.. Im only 8 weeks so still very early and anything can happen (praying for the best)I do have a cyst they said but said it was normal but have to keep an eye on it, hoping no surgery will be needed. To your question above I think you mean how long did I have to wait for a positive result, I was about 6 weeks pregnant when I got a positive sign..Smile Hope things go smooth for you from here on out, I know the waiting process is torture!!! Smile

cramping and lower back pain
robbiecox, did you ever find anything out? I've had the same symptoms and am scared about ovarian cancer. I've heard earyly stages cause lower back pain and cramping. I had an ultra sound but they couldn't see anything unusual. I'm not sure what to do.

HI, yea sorry there was supposed to be plus signs in that statement.

Cjordandirect- hope everything is going good, sorry to hear about the scare. They say it’s supposed to be an exciting time- more like worrying all the time. Hopefully your cysts will take care of its self, but there are lots of women who have it removed and both mother and baby are fine. It’s a lot more common then we think.

Iansmommy- why is it that we tend to think of the worst- we can drive our selves mad!! I don’t think its cancer (have thought that too at one point or another, but hopefully not) - all the test I’ve had done haven’t shown anything linking to cancer. It’s around the time of the month so the next few days might give me some answers, but other than that I’m still waiting to see an obgyn. Other than an ultra sound (I would love to have one of those done to rule out cysts or pregnancy) what test have been done?

RobbieCox Hi, I've had a pap smear that was normal and a pelvic exam that was normal. I'm really scared because my main symptom is that I always feel like I'm on the first day of my period with heavy lower back aching and cramps and everything on-line says that's early signs of ovarian cancer and I can't find anything else with those symptoms. Also I've had 4 periods since my son was born and all have been normal and 28 day apart. My doctor seems to think I'm just being a hypochondriac...which I probably am. I'm 44 and just had my second child and I have a four year old. I've been having fears that something is terminal with me for a couple years actually. I'm not really sure why my brain always goes to the worse possible thing. If the cramping would just stop I could put it out of my mind, but it's always there reminding me. Actually last night I had a couple drinks and it lessened the cramps considerably. thanks for listening.

low back ache and cramping
Hi RobbieCox, just wanted to let you know I have an appt with a different gyno sept 16th. She seems to think it's related to hormone inbalance. let me know what you find out after your appt. I know our stories are a little different but the low back ache and cramping and some sharps pains sounds the same and I'm going on 3 months of it. I've also had days of frequent urination (which is another sign of ovarian cancer, ahhhh!) Have you had any bladder troubles?

Hi- Well the ‘time’ (as I can it) came and went with lots of heavy cramping and normal blood flow (for me). I felt like a cysts did pop, but I can’t say for sure what it was- I’ve had these types of ‘times’ before so it was nothing new. My skin is still horrible, which is not like me but I’m over the tiredness and feeling nauseous. I’m still feeling light cramping and my lower abdomen sticks out like I’m 3 months pregnant (worst at night), but my back pain has lessened (I think- I feel it’s been going on so long I’m not sure what’s normal and what’s not) oh and I pee all the time (runs in the family) so frequent urination is normal to me!! But all together I’m feeling better. Still waiting on an appointment with the gyno, but I’m off on holiday until Oct. 2nd so won’t see anyone until after then.

As for your thought on ovarian cancer – They say that symptoms seem to be persistent or worsening and there's typically little fluctuation — symptoms are constant and gradually worsen. Do you feel this way?? As for me I feel that my symptoms tend to come and go- barely there sometimes and very annoying other times. When you go to your appointment ask to get a CA 125 blood test- that should be your last check as everything else has been normal. It might just be a hormone imbalance that the other gyno thinks- fingers crossed!! Take care and ‘talk’ in Oct-

Keep updated and good luck

cramps and low back pain
My symptoms seem fairly constant and worsening, except when I go out for a walk or am really active...then it seems to be gone pretty much. But then I sit and rest and it's right back again. The fact that it seems so much like my period symptoms does seem hormonal. My stomach also looks like I'm 3 months pregnant and also worse at night! It seemed to happen quickly. The CA 125 I've heard is very unreliable and can give false positive AND false negative tests. And studies have shown that women with high levels, only 3% actually have cancer. So I've not sure I want to go that route and have extra worry for nothing.
I'm glad you're feeling better though. I understand about not really knowing what is normal now. I'm feeling very disconected with my body, mind and soul.
Keep me posted and have a wonderful holiday (hopefully somewhere warm and tropical?)
