Q: cramping and diarrhea after gallbladder surgery

I am a 39 yr old female. I had my appendix removed laproscopically in Aug. 2007. Still had cramping, did tests and had my gallbladder removed March 27, 2008. I continue to have cramping in my lower abdomen that mimicks severe menstrual cramping (i had a hysterectomy in may 2005).I also feel this cramping to a severe degree within an hour of eating just about anything. Usually within 30 minutes. I also have diarrhea just after the cramping starts and it is sometimes yellow, but mostly light brown. I have only had less than 10 normal bowel movements since the surgery. What could this be? I have had 2 colonoscopies done, the most recent in Nov. 2007, and they are clean. also have had the upper colon checked and it's clean. What could my next step be? Can this be "fixed"?

Hi vic, hope you're still around to read this Smile

The first thing you should do is let your doctor know, if you haven't already. Have you explained the situation to your GP?

This sounds like a digestive issue. After certain surgeries some people can experience conditions such as rapid stomach emptying or intolerances. Do you have any other symptoms apart from cramping and diarrhea, such as fatigue, or weakness/dizzyness?
