Q: Cracking in ears

It started about a few months ago and whenever I move my jaw from side to side, I can hear rustling and little cracks in my ears. First, it was only my left ear, where the jaw bone and the ear connect. Now, unintentionally, I often crack that area as if I were cracking my fingers, so it makes a large cracking sound. After cracking it, it feels a bit loosened although I can still hear tiny cracks. Sometimes it sounds like "wet" cracks, in both my ears. In the beginning it wasn't causing me any pain, although now I feel as if some of the headaches I get are because of it and it is generally sore around ears at times.

Is this something to worry about? Should I stop cracking my ears?

jaw pain, cracking - all of a sudden!
Just the past week, developed pain when I bite down on thelower left jaw, also lot of crackling and pain as I open and shut the jaw. There has be no external damage to my face, jaw teeth recently. What could it be all of a sudden, should I "wait and see" or go to a dr.?

in reply to peter 77, I too suffer from the exact same symptoms as you. It always feels good when they crack because it seems to release a bit of tension but now its happening more often, have you been to see anyone about it yet?
