i have been going out with my boyfriend for a number of years now and just the other night we were about to have sex but the whole time he wasn't fully erect. its only happened once, what could the problems be? i do not want to confront him about it.

If it has only happened once, don't make a big deal about it. Don't bring it up--he might be embarrassed. Talk with him about it if *he* brings it up. Tell him it's no big deal and it's normal.

He was probably tired or distracted or something. He could have been feeling off, like he was getting sick. Sometimes it just happens. It's normal.

If it happens over and over, he probably should see a doctor, but just once or even a few times, don't worry.

thanks a lot. i asked him if there was anything on his mind or if he wanted to talk about anything but he said there was nothing. maybe he was just tired. i read that it could be lack of interest in the other partner which scares me a bit?

Ah, I see. That's why you were worried. That explains a lot.

Don't worry about lack of interest right now. If it starts to happen more and more, then maybe, but not after one time.

Are you feeling insecure for any other reason?

no i think i just feel this way because it has never happened to me before and was just a bit of a surprise to me after the years we have been together.

its not something i would talk to him (or any of my friends) about.
