Hello,

I'm a 37 year old female and I've been experiencing some problems and was wondering if it could possibly be associated with TMJ. I've been having problems with my gums. They itch, feel irritated, sometimes they throb and my teeth and gums feel sore all the time. At times I feel a sharp sudden pain on my jaw and close to my chin. Sometimes the symtoms are worst than other times. I've been to my dentist and all he says is I have picture perfect teeth. I also sometimes get a metallic taste in my mouth. My gums don't bleed are not swollen I floss at least once a day and brush 2-3 times a day. I've never had problems with my teeth but in the past 2 years I've had 3 root canals done. I think I clench my teeth at night when I change position or stretch. I've noticed it in my sleep sometimes. I don't know if I grind because my husband has never mentioned it to me. I dont know what it could be but I am really frustrated because it seems to be getting worst. Could this be TMJ???
