chronic sinusitis with deviated septum and nasal polyps Posted: 03-08-08 17:16pm
I was diagnosed with chronic sinusitus,
deviated septum, nasal polyps and a
possible mucus pocket. The most
bothersome symptom I have is the eye pain,
pressure and discomfort. My eyes
literally feel like they get stuck
sometimes. It's as if my eyes can't keep
up with what I'm trying to look at. It
makes me feel almost lost, dizzy and
confused. My eyes hurt so bad and
sometimes feel like they are going to pop
out. Looking down has become very common
for me, as it almost seems hard to look
up. My right eye often feels and
sometimes looks smaller than my left,
which never had happened before all of
this. I have seen a neurologist,
opthamologist, 2 optometrists and many
doctors. The only for sure diagnosis is
the one I listed above. I don't sleep
well, get shaky during the day (nothing
sets it off, it just happens) and I was
wondering if this could all be caused by
my diagnosis?
My problems started four years ago. I
broke my nose, immediately started
vomitting and two weeks later I woke up
one morning...dizzy, complained of left
ear pain and told my wife my eyes felt
really funny. It has been all down hill
since then. I often can hear my heartbeat
in my left ear, ear pain, tender face,
sore throat, raspy voice, headaches, I
will get shaky often throughout the day,
which have led to me being uncomfortable
in social settings, anxiety and to top it
off depression.
I have had an MRI which shows the
diagnosis above and white matter changes.
I have a homocysteine level of 45.4 (with
the top of the range being 11.4) and my
doctors are baffled. On the same day in
October of 05' and 06', I had blood drawn
that showed my absolute eosphilus (sp) at
608 and the following year 911 (with the
high being 500). I was scheduled for a
gall bladder surgery twice and they had to
cancel both times, as my carbon dioxide
levels were very high. I get very shaky
and weak after any activities. I also had
a sleep apnea test and they ruled I don't
have sleep apnea, but would awaken almost
every 3 minutes and immediately fall back
into the deepest sleep.
I am waiting financially to have the sinus
surgery, but was curious of your thoughts
on whether or not this may be my problem?
I will keep you updated on my status, but
at this point I've been told B-12
deficiency, Vitamin D deficiency, possible
MS and everything else.
