could meningitis have created later medical problems?

Wondering if my medical problems I have know could have anything to do with having viral meningitis and enable for them to figure out that I had it they gave 4 spinal taps. It was a epedemic in San Jose California the year i got it. so not much medical knowledge then about it. Know I have nerolgical problems, deteriating disks and spinal column, arthritis growing threw my spine and fibromyalsia. Want to know if this all could be the after effect from being sick and the spinal taps.
