Last august I had pneuomonia. My fever
was just shy of 105. That and overall
dizziness and delerium is what clued me in
to it and made to go to the er at night.
From my understanding, once you have it
once, you are more susceptible to have it
again.
At the moment I have a 102.6 fever as well
as diziness and some achiness. I took
some tylenol about 45 minutes ago, and it
only succeeded in taking .1 off the
temperature. Breathing doesn't hurt, but
breathing deeply makes me cough. My
throat is a tiny bit sore, and I have a
mild headache.
Could this be pneumonia again? I'm
currently debating whether I should go to
the er right now, or wait til tomorrow to
see my regular doctor.
Pneumonia is a lung infection. It can be a
very serious condition if it is a typical
pneumonia. High fiver (over 40 C) is
typical for "typical pneumonia". But,
X-ray image of the chest is absolutely
necessary to diagnose any type of
pneumonia because high body temperature
does not always means having pneumonia.
Much easier conditions can cause high
fiver (flu for example).Typical pneumonia
usually requires hospitalization. Having
pneumonia once does not make you
susceptible to develop pneumonia again.
But there are some other conditions that
make you susceptible to develop pneumonia:
any disorder that weakens your immunity
(AIDS, malignancy, alcoholism,
malnutrition,...), chronic bronchitis,
bronchiectasiae etc.
Do you have any of those conditions?
