Hi,

I'm an 18 year old male. I am straight but could be described as bicurious. Last night, I gave oral sex to a man. It only lasted 5 seconds and he did not ejaculate. I'm pretty sure he didn't pre-cum because I asked him before hand if he had been masturbating and he said no. I stopped straight away. I have a small ulcer in my mouth but I'm pretty sure my gums were completely covering it from any tiny amount of liquid that entered my mouth.

However I'm still worried that I could've caught HIV. I've texted him and he said he does not have it but is there a big chance I could catch HIV through oral sex, even though it was extremely brief and I'm unsure whether any sexual bodily fluids were exchanged?

Someone please answer me, I'm going crazy with worrying Sad

Greendiff91,

You may not have got HIV and you did acquire worry. The only way to get past the worry if you are this worried is to wait three months without engaging in risky behaviour and get a HIV test. Three months seems like a long time to wait and compared to your whole life, that is nothing.

I would tell you not to worry and since you mentioned the small ulcer, that is all the virus needs to get in the body system. With an ulcer, you can get STDs as well. Hopefully the other guy was clean...pre-cum is present in the penis all the time.

Do what you can do to get you through the three months, get tested and know your status. It takes three months of waiting for a blood test. Blood tests are more accurate compared to other tests.

All the best
