I had no symptoms of my period and started 3 days late i had bad cramps but only spotted i had one day of medium flow and then one more day of spotting then it was over. i usually bleed heavily for 5-7 days. during this spotting i had lower back pain and mild cramping after the first day. It is now 2 weeks after i started my period and i still have lower back pain mild cramping on and off, breast pain. my boyfriend also notice my boobs are bigger and more firm. and they are very tender. i have nausea and headachs. body achs and food craving and aversion to food i like also i have been smelling more things than normal like an ashtray made me want to puke. that has never bugged me before.
i am 18 and there is a very likly chance i could be pregnant since we do not use protection. i dont want to hear any ur to young crap. i have takin 3 pregnancy test but all negative. one of them was first response and that was negative the day after my period was due. the other 2 were cheap ones from dollar general taken after "period" ended BFN.
i dont know what to think i dont want to get my hopes up and get shot down. my boyfriend wants me to go to the doctor to take a test but i just dont want to be disapointed again.
just want someone elses, out side the situation, advice and opinion.
Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am really glad to help you out. Your concern is regarding the status of your pregnancy. I would suggest you to get your serum HCG levels estimated. The serum test is a much more sensitive test compared to the urine test. The HCG (it is a hormone) levels rise only in pregnancy and hCG can be detected in urine after implantation of zygote in the wall of the uterus formed by the union of the sperm & the ovum, which occurs six to twelve days after fertilization. So HCG presence will confirm the status of your pregnancy. Ideally urine for pregnancy test should be done after 1 week of your missed periods date.
The spotting which you had could be due to implantation bleeding which occurs due to the implantation of the zygote on the inner lining of the uterus.
The mood changes that you are having can be due to the hormonal changes which are there whenever there is any irregularity in periods. This should become better with the next menstrual periods ( in the absence of any pregnancy).
So get your pregnancy status checked and if the symptoms still persist then please consult your gynecologist.
It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
