Some women do experience a lighter period at the start of pregnancy. It could also be due to stress etc. The best way to tell is a pregnancy test or see your doctor!! Sometimes your cycle doesnt run like clockwork and these 'odd' periods can happen for no obvious reason. If you have any of the other symptoms of pregnancy such as being tired, sick or sore breasts, then chances are you are pregnant. Christmas is, however, a stressful, busy time of year which could well have effected your cycle.

You may not be pregnant, especially because stress plays a big part on a womens menstrual cycle. Being that it was around Christmas, which is typically a hectic time, could have cause your menstrual cycle to not be in it's normal "swing of things." If your experiencing any pregnancy symptoms or feel that there is a great chance you could be, go out and by an at home test, however those arent always right. The only way to truly know though is to sceadule a visit with your doctor.
