Q: Could I be pregnant??

I've been off of birth control for almost a month, and I'm having symptoms that make me think I'm pregnant.
It started with one-sided lower abdominal pain. It didn't hurt, just ached and was intermittent, but very obvious. A week and a half later, I had what felt like period cramps. Since then, those "cramps" come and go, but are more focused over the very lower portion of my pelvis and are less severe.
All the while, my appetite has not been normal for me. Food does not seem as interesting and sometimes gives me gas and indigestion. I notice myself going pee once or twice in the middle of the night. Starting 2 days ago, I get random dull pains throughout my chest and around my breasts.
Could I be pregnant? My period is still 8 days away, assuming my cycle is 31 days long. But since I just came off the pill (Yaz), I just don't know what to expect yet.
One more thing: 2 days after my last period, I had a sudden glob of clear cold discharge that was pink tinged. Could I have already fertilized an egg and still gotten my period? On my last pack of pills, I did miss two nights in a row. Perhaps I ovulated.

Generally, pregnancy symptoms don't start until your period is due. All the symptoms you've listed could be pms symptoms or related to stopping the pill.

Although a friend of mine told me she presented this way, too.

Every pregnancy is different I found that the best way to know is to take a test.

I used to think that there was one set of experiences that every woman went through when becoming pregnant, but since talking to several women about it, that does not seem to be the case. Like my husband says, if you want to be pregnant, you might certainly think yourself into believing that. However, being a nurse, I've tried to reamain as objective as posssible about my symptoms and all I know is that something is different.
I do think that it is too early to test, since my period is still a week away.

It takes 10-14 days for enough hormones to build up in your body to trigger a pregnancy test as positive. IF you are pregnant (and I hope you are), you have been pregnant for approximately 1 week (ovulation generally occurs 14 days prior to your period). Given the amount of time it would take the blastocyst to attach itself to your womb, a day or two?, that would make 5 days your body would have 'known' it was pregnant. You would not have enough hormones in your system to cause any pregnancy symptoms. You may very well feel differently because your body is not getting its regular dose of hormones (birth control pills). That can cause its own set of symptoms.
