I am 38 years old and have had my tubes cut and burn. My cycle is 30 days and last 4 days. It is a heavy flow and most of the time clots are present but this month it came the day it was surpost to. On time. Only it was & is watery red/drownish, have lower back pain and cramping, headaches, nausea, very bloated. My boyfriend said I look like I was 3 months but lol I know that can't be. Please help. My flow is 4 days but on day 5 & still spotting. Not enough to use a pad or full a tampon. What could it be? I'm a very fertile before I had my tubes done I have had 7 pregnancies and 5 live births. But if God blesses me one more time I will be so happy and so will my boyfriend. We both want a baby together.

Hi,
Welcome to ehealthforum,
The recent symptoms that you describe suggest pregnancy possibility, which is possible due to chances of spontaneous recanalization. There are chances of spontaneous recanalization, after few years of tubal ligation. The incidence/chances of tubal ligation failure or spontaneous recanalization depends on the type of procedure followed to ligate the tubes. Few methods are associated with high incidence of spontaneous recanalization, and few are with very minimal chances of recanalization. If you are having functional ovaries and if you are sexually active without additional protection, chances of pregnancy are possible. If you suspect pregnancy chances (as suggested by your symptoms), consider visiting your doctor/gynecologist at the earliest for thorough examination (to confirm pregnancy related changes/signs in body) and blood/serum HCG level test (to confirm/rule out pregnancy accurately). If pregnancy gets confirmed, or if you develop any other new symptoms suggestive of ectopic pregnancy (chances are high due to scarring of tubes), consider getting ultrasound scan done to confirm the location of pregnancy/gestational sac (intrauterine or ectopic). Visit your doctor/gynecologist for further clarification and assistance.
Take care.
