My boyfriend and i have been trying for a baby for 12 months, i had a misscarige in late Oct since then i have had a period in Dec and Jan, have missed Feb and now March, have took two home preg tests and today got the results from a doctors preg test (urine) all negative. I am really confused as am feeling very tired, gaining weight, feeling sick and have gone off certain foods and drink(tea and wine, I feel i am not getting very good support from my doctor, could I still be pregnant with 3 neg tests if not what else could be causinhg these symptoms?

ps when my mother was pregnant with my brother she has 6 tests that came up neg and didnt get a possitive until nearly 5 months preg.

Thank you for your question on ehealthforum.com

A delayed positive pregnancy test can happen occasionally and it may take a few weeks before it gets positive. If your pregnancy tests were performed in the very early stages immediately after you missed period, then it is a good idea to have another test in the laboratory.

If the test is still negative, then other causes of amenorrhea (lack of periods) need to be ruled out as this may require hormonal assay, ultrasound scan apart from physical examination by gynecologist. So, please make an appointment to see a gynecologist for the test and examination. Thank you
