I've been having this problem for a few years and blamed it on the college lifestyle. I am always sleepy and can literally fall asleep anytime, anywhere, for as long as nothing auditory wakes me up or someone shakes me, including driving. I used to go home every weekend which is an hour and a half drive from school to home and would get so drowsy I would resort to doing things like slapping myself while driving to keep myself awake. It eventually got to the point where I have to pull off on an exit and get a little ten minute power nap in a parking lot. Loud music, window down, window up, NOTHING keeps me awake. I thought it was because I was so used to the road but going on a 3 hour drive to a state and city I've never been to posed the same problems. It has recently gotten worse as well. Now I cannot drive on any stretch of interstate for more than 20 minutes without feeling like I'm dozing off! More than that, I can sleep for any amount of time. I got snowed in at my apartment, had already gotten 8 hours of sleep, rolled over and slept for 12 more hours, got up and ate, then laid down to watch tv and fell asleep for 4 more hours and I was getting perfectly average amounts of sleep before this. My mom suggested I take vitamins which has made me feel more energetic when waking up but still doesn't help the sleepiness. Also, I don't know if its related, I keep waking up and one or both of my legs are asleep. Anyone know what's wrong with me?
