I have a lot of stomach discomfort, bloating, and gas (from above and below). I've had these stomach issues for a long time. Tests have come back normal, and by process of elimination, a few doctors have suggested I might have IBS-C.
I'm not so sure. I thought IBS symptoms were caused from certain foods, but for me-- all foods and drinks seem to cause the symptoms.
I'm thinking it might be bacterial. I brought this up to a GI specialist, and he responded simply by saying we have lots of bacteria in our bodies. What I didn't think to tell him at the time is that I rarely used to brush my teeth. I've gotten better at it over the past year, but before that I only did it about once a month.
I don't know if that has anything to do with it. As a test, I brushed my teeth at least once a day for a couple weeks, and that didn't SEEM to help. Then again, nothing I've tried has seemed to help.
If the lack of brushing is the cause of all my stomach issues, wouldn't the two weeks of brushing every day make the symptoms stop? or is that not long enough? Would brushing twice a day for like a month take care of it?
Or would I need antibiotics or something?
Any ideas?
