Hey... I try to avoid the doctor as much as possible as I have seen them far too much in my life.

A brief background check on me... I am a 26 year old femal who has been smoking steadily since 9 years of age. Yes... 9 years old. My cousin was cruel and got me hooked. I have never not once quit in my life, never even thought about, I don't want, I love too smoke. The *only* thing that will ever get me to top would be lung cancer. I recently just lost a woman who was like my second mother to the disease. So it's because of that I'm curious as to the problems I have been having.

About a year ago, maybe a little longer than that I started coughing up phelgm, only it comes out in perfect balls... like its always in a perfect circular ovular shape... I don't know it's weird... anyways it's a clear but it has black in it. Now obviously as a smoker for 16 years I am now worried. I have also been dealing with excruciating chest pains for a few years.

Is this anything I need to be worried about... and what are the possible problem that it could be?

You may only have a chronic bronchitis that is very common in smokers and manifests with constant cough that is worse in mornings, productive cough or coughing out a sputum, chest discomfort, wheezing or/and shortness of breath.
All of these symptoms may signal a more serious condition like lung cancer.
You may ask for a lung CT scan, since it can detect the smallest cancerous changes in lungs.
