Coughing up brownish mucus

I do not have a cold, but have been coughing the past couple of days, I feel it is coming from my chest, but most of the time a dry cough. I have been coughing up some brownish phlem. When I cough I get a headache too. Is this from Asthma?

Your symptoms are not due to asthma.

From the history provided, it seems that you probably have pneumonia, indicated by the presence of rusty brown sputum.

You might consider to get a chest X ray and blood tests to confirm the diagnosis.

You might need antibiotics and supportive medications for proper treatment.
