I have been getting chest pains for 2 months now. I am a 25 year old female. My doctor thinks I may have Costochondritis still, but I keep getting chest pain with pain radiating to my left arm and up to my jaw. I also get pain inm my right arm and my ribs. Can Costochondritis cause these symptoms? I also had six episodes of trouble breathing and pressure in my chest, but that only lasts for about 15 minutes. I also woke up early morning one day and I had trouble breathing and that lasted for about 5 minutes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Cassie

Hi,

Welcome to the ehealthforum. I am glad to help you out. The possibility of the pain radiating to the arms in costochondritis is quite less likely. I’ll suggest ruling out a cardiac problem by getting an EKG & a stress EKG. In case, the stress EKG is negative, the possibility of a cardiac disease will be virtually ruled out. If there’s local tenderness in the chest, then the possibility of costochondritis is quite high.

I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
