I am now 21 years old and just finding out or im figuring i have Convergence Insufficiency. I seem to have many of the symptoms:

* eyestrain (especially with or after reading)
* headaches
* inability to concentrate
* short attention span
* frequent loss of place
* squinting, rubbing, closing or covering an eye
* blurred vision
* sleepiness (especially while reading)
* trouble remembering what was read
* words move, jump, swim or appear to float on the page
* problems with motion sickness and/or vertigo -"This i dont have, but i do feel off balance ALOT"-
* double vision

Now here's where I have some questions, I didnt start developing things such as double vision,short attention span, etc till around my Sophmore year of H.S.. It was about an year later ( 11th grade ) that i started noticing some problems get very bad that involved the use of my brain ( like learning ), for example; 1.remembering things, its as if it would go in one ear and out the other, 2.When reading I could almost immediately after im done reading, forgot more than half the things i just read even after rereading i sometimes wouldnt understand what was just read clearly so i tend to reread to understand what it was i just read..=P,3. I started having problems talking clearly, i would forget sentences, words, phrases that i knew i should of known-see in my mind sentences can be like this 'H my name is eddie i have co-ve-se- if-ncy' which would be Hi I have convergence insfficiency' so i have trouble pronouncing many words or remember their pronouciation. All of this started affecting my ability to learn, talk and everything, i couldnt read anymore either, id get very tired or blank out. Then i read this

Suppression of vision in one eye causes loss of binocular (two-eyed) vision and depth perception. Poor binocular vision can have a negative impact on many areas of life, such as coordination, sports, judgment of distances, eye contact, motion sickness, etc. Consequently, a person with convergence insufficiency who is suppressing one eye can show some of the following symptoms:

* trouble catching balls and other objects thrown through the air
* avoidance of tasks that require depth perception (games involving smaller balls, handicrafts, hand eye coordination, etc.)
* frequent mishaps due to misjudgment of distances (particularly within twenty feet), such as:
... etc etc

So i was wondering if its possible that Convergence Insufficiency maybe the cause of all this...ive read somethings but not an answer because most things i read similar to mine are for KIDS young kids, Before sophmore year my grades, my language skills were great, i had no problems, at junior i got so behind i had to go to special classes and flunked a grade and almost two grades. So is it possible that at my age that Convergence Insufficiency would have that of an effect on me?
