Q: Contraction of yeast infections
asked by: DoctorQuestion on November 26th, 2008
i have a very bad yeast infection.although, thats not the problem.the doctors said i didnt have any stds it was just a yeast infection.but everytime i receive oral sex, my vaginal area gets itchy and red.[especially around my clit area] im wondering can a yeast infection be causing this...
and also...when i went to the free clinic to get tested they said i didnt have any stds just a yeast infection and they gav me a prescription for it. they took some blood and they said theyd send it in and if i had something they'd call me..i never got a call...but for some reason in the back of my mind i think i still have something besides a yeast infection.
i need some medical advice on this?

Yeast Infection Answer A4994
Current medical status: i have a very bad yeast infection...i went to the free clinic and got and std check and they said i didnt have any...but they were still going to send in my blood to have it tested.
Current medical treatment: i dont know the prescription right now because i dont have it with me..but i havent bought it yet

A vaginal yeast infection can cause itching and redness of the vaginal area (vulvitis candidomycetica). A vaginal yeast infection is not considered as a sexual transmitted disease (STD) because yeasts are normally present in the vagina. In certain circumstances when local immunity gets weaker, the normally present yeasts start to multiply and cause infection and inflammation. Conditions that convey yeast infection to show up are pregnancy, prolonged usage of large-spectral antibiotics, immunity disorders, etc.

A yeast infection can also be stimulated if larger amounts of yeasts are imported from outside. This means that oral sex could theoretically make circumstances for a yeast infection occurring higher.

A microbiological smear and PAP test could show if there is something else besides a yeast infection. You could consult a gynecologist about this.
