Q: Contraception and vasectomy

I had my third C-section May 4th 2007. I was told that my uterus was thin, and was asked what I would be using for birth control? I was told at first by the OB that she stitched my uterus back together in a weaved fashion in case I became pregnant again. She said this after I asked if I could have more children. I later asked, if she was saying that I should not have more children? She said she would not recommend it! This hurt my husband and I greatly! So at my 6 week postpartum visit, I asked one last time before my husband considers a Vasectomy, if I can't have another baby? She replied with the fact that in her many years of being an OB, I was the first person she told that they should not have another baby. She said I was risking another babies life as well as my own, and that I could possibly die, leaving my three children without a mother. I asked if ultrasound later, after I healed from this C-section, would tell more about whether I could carry another child? She said no. I as

You can ask for a second opinion from another gynecologist.
By the way, if you decide not to have any more children, you may chose another contraceptive method besides a vasectomy because a vasectomy is an irreversible process, in most cases.
