Hello and welcome to e health forum.

Most women, usually have a regular menstrual cycle of 28 -34 days.

The most common causes of irregular cycles are Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) and Dysfunctional uterine bleeding.

Since the ultrasound, has ruled out PCOS, the most likely cause of your irregular periods can be due to dysfunctional uterine bleeding, which is the result of abnormal gonadotrophin secretion by the pituitary gland. This results in anovulatory cycles where there is no ovulation and hence this may result in lack of conception and pregnancy.

You might consult with a gynecologist for a examination and ovulation studies, to rule out DUB and initiate proper therapy as needed. With proper treatment, you will be able to have normal ovulatory cycles and soon you can concieve normally.
