My Mom has had contineous headaches for last 10 years. She is now 68 years old. We have tried various neurologists. Also done CT scan and MRI. Throughout the day, as the medication wears off, she gets these severe migraine type attacks where you can feel the left side above her forehead pulsating and thobbing. The pain is only on the left side of the head.

Please let me know if I can provide more information. Thank you and any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.

Was the onset of this headache abrupt and new ten years ago?
Does your mum have visual problems?
Is she experiencing scalp tenderness on that side of the head when touching, laying down on the pillow, combing the hair?
Does she feel pain or fatigue with chewing?

it had started slowly about 10 years ago. At that time it wasn't a constant haedache. Now the headache is constant, and she gets these migraine type attacks once or twice a day.
We have had her eyes checked couple of times now. She has also changed her prescription glasses.
She is not experiencing any tenderness.
No problems when chewing either.

My questions were related to a condition, known as a temporal arteritis (inflammatory process of blood vessels), that might be a possible diagnosis for your mum.
It will be good to check it with her physician.

What kind of additional symptoms she has along with the headache?
