If the flow is real hard you might want to get hold of your doctor...Possibly another woman on the Forum may have had this problem too....

Sounds like you are starting your change. That happens. You get long periods, short periods, no periods, two in a month...the whole shabang! It will stop when it is ready, but you can call your doctor and see if there is something he can give you to cut it off. It's all part of the game of life for us females..

continous bleeding
Hi ladies.

I am a practicing acupuncturist and have found that very few women
know about the benefits of acupuncture and traditional Chinese herbs
when dealing with perimenopause and menopause.

What some women experience is what is referred to as break though
bleeding. This can occur when the hormone flux happens very rapidly.
Another cause for heavy continuous bleeding is uterine fibroids. For
some women the hormonal changes that occur during menopause, can
cause the fibroids to increase in size and bleed. Usually after
menopause the supply of estrogen significantly decreases causing the
fibroids to shrink and to no longer be a problem. A gyn exam and or
ultrasound is required to positively diagnose fibroids.

In either case acupuncture and herbs are very affective treatments.
Continuous bleeding can be stopped with as little as a single
acupuncture treatment. In most cases like this, Chinese herbs are
required especially when fibroids are involved. The rule of thumb for
fibroids and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is, fibroids smaller
than three centimeter can be completely resolved with TCM, and larger
than three centimeters TCM can stabilize the growth and eliminate the
symptoms.

I'm 49, and I feel your pain...no two periods have been alike over the last 23 months. A few floods, the never ending period lasting 4 weeks, several missed and everything in between. Now I'm getting the worst sore breasts. Tried progesterone tablets once, but never again! This time I'm going herbal, and trying Lady's Mantle, if that doesn't do it, I'll try Vitex. Hopefully, I'll see this through within the next year, I'm sick of all this.

I am 52 and have (or had) fibroid tumors. My monthly cycle was painful, heavy and a dread! This past June, I went to the accupuncturist for a back spasm and was I surprised when July came along and I had no period. It is now October and I have had no period. Last week my ovary ached a little but no blood flow. I am so excited. I now go to the accupuncturist once a month and I am told that I must continue to do this to maintain this level of health. Well you can imagine how happy I am. I was close to looking at options such as a hysterectomy.
